Dr. Liu has more than 40 year’s rich experience during his professional career in China’s oil and gas industry, particularly in R&D management and technology innovation domains. From 1986 to 1994, he had held various positions in Xinjiang Petroleum Administration, including Petroleum Engineer, Chief-Engineer and President of Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development. He then took the position as Division-Chief and Deputy ManagingDirector, then Managing Director of R&D Dept. of CNPC， and became Deputy Chief Engineer of CNPC in 2007. He became DeputyDirector of CNPC Advisory Center in 2009 and served as Senior Adviser of CNPC Advisory Center afterwards. He is expert sponsored by the State Council,China. He was board director of Society of Petroleum Engineering international (SPE), chairman of SPE Beijing Section, China, member of program committee of World Petroleum Council.
